Update! Aug 2009- Ed Dale and his crew have updated and improved the 30 Day Challenge. New tools have been added (Traffic Bug) and old ones improved (Market Samurai is awesome!). Even if you have done other 30DCs, do this one as well. You will be happy you did!
The post below is from my Aug 2008 experience with the 30 Day Challenge:
I happened by chance upon an online home based business training back in 2005 called the Thirty Day Challenge . The Goal? To learn to make your first dollar online on your own website. Where you take it from there is up to you.
I learned a lot then and continued to learn via the next two Challenges amd thanks to the TDC, I have finally been able to make having an online, home based business a reality for me and my family.
This yearly event is the brainchild of Australian Ed Dale and his team and has been held every August. Ed has assembled a great group of internet business specialists who give their expertise via step by step videos in a very understandable, workable format.
This is, hands down, the finest, most thorough home based business online training you will find anywhere and it is absolutely FREE.
This year the Challenge grew exponentially with people all over the world doing the Thirty Day Challenge to see if they could make their first dollar online. Generously, Ed and his team have decided to leave the lessons up year-round so you can start your training, along with access to excellent tools (made available for free such as Market Samarai) to jump start your success, anytime and at your own pace.

The Thirty Day Challenge is a combination of contest, reality show, advanced marketing course, and internet community. On one level it’s simple – a group of experienced, knowledgeable internet marketers have developed a program to give back to the community, in the form of instruction and support for free, for anyone who wants to sign up. The goal is that you earn your first ten dollars online in a month.
The Challenge recognizes the enormous changes that have happened on the internet in recent years, especially with the concept of Web 2.0, an interactive online community. Ed Dale and his team show us how to use tools like Google Trends, Facebook, StumbleUpon, and WordTracker to do market research, analyze traffic, and to develop products. They have created forums and encouraged participants to develop teams to share knowledge and support each other through the process.
While the participants are diverse in location, age, and experience, no advanced computer knowledge is required. The videos are designed to show participants how to use the tools even if they have very little internet knowledge. Dale stresses at one point that, although he doesn’t recommend it, some people even use dial-up internet access to do the Challenge.
They also stress that there is no cost to participate, no direct selling, and no pressure to buy a product at the end. In previous years there was some expense to use some tools, but the development of effective and free tools now makes doing the challenge cost-free.
While the Challenge has no monetary cost, it does take time. Each day there are activities to do and podcasts and videos to watch. You will interact with your team members and on the Forum. By the end of the thirty days, you will have a new internet business that you can continue to develop, as well as tools and knowledge to help it grow, and to develop new concepts.
